One area of low pressure, intiially close to northwestern areas at the start of this period, should soon clear away, but it is likely that further areas of low pressure will develop over the North Atlantic. These will likely progress eastwards towards the UK, but could become quite slow-moving in the vicinity of the UK, as they butt up against higher pressure to the east and north. As a result, the wettest conditions are more likely in western areas, but all parts could see heavy rain at times. Strong winds are also likely at times, again more likely in the west. Temperatures are expected to remain close to or above normal.
