Any showers soon dying out this evening with some late sunshine then clear spells overnight. Low cloud and mist edging inland from the Moray Firth. Chilly in rural parts. Minimum Temperature 5C.

Low cloud and mist becoming confined to eastern coasts through the morning, otherwise a largely dry and sunny day, just a small chance of a shower over the hills. Maximum Temperature 23C.

This area of high pressure is expected to remain in place through much of the following week, however there is an increasing likelihood that conditions could turn wetter and more unsettled by the following weekend. Areas of rain and strengthening winds may approach from the west and/or south, with a chance of thundery outbreaks at times as well. Daytime temperatures continue to be generally above average at first, and perhaps closer to average later on in the period.
